In order to comprehend a piece of text it needs to be coherent. Coherence is established when text has arguments that are repetitive. In other words, the propositions are connected. These propositions are connected if there is at least one path from the proposition to every other proposition. Sentences can be more easily comprehended when there is a proposition that is connected by an argument that has been repeated in previous sentences. We need to have a strong working memory so we can remember previous propositions in order to make the correct connections to all other propositions which then makes the text coherent.
